Hello sweet friends! I am taking a break from portrait work for a while to focus on my new graduate program in Sustainability. I’ve always wanted to get a professional degree in something that I believe in deeply and that we all need. I think that is Sustainability. We have one planet to call home, as you may know :) I am interested in focusing my graduate work on family health and lifestyle change to more sustainable methods. This does not mean I am leaving the world of photography behind – quite the opposite! I love art and portrait photography, and I’m really looking forward to seeing where my skills take me in this new chapter of my life! Once the fast pace of school is over, I do want to get back to this little business of mine. Stay tuned here, and you will see some of my work and ideas come to life.

I am so thrilled to bring you these images this afternoon! Kerri and Corey are such a stunning couple, and they take some GREAT pictures! Trust me, all I had to do was stand around and let the magic happen. We scooted around a lush Shreveport last weekend after the amazing-week-long-monsoon-like rain appeared to be over. Besides obviously digging one another, these two are avid fans of a certain southern football team, as you will see…

Last weekend, a glorious sunset wedding occurred in Naples, Florida, at the timeless Ritz-Carlton. I was blessed enough to be there to catch as many sweet moments as my camera shutter could manage – and let me tell you, they were countless! Michal and Nathan can only be described as two people made for the other, and visibly bring out each other’s best. Their elegant and intimate wedding was a family affair to the very definition of the word. That much love concentrated in one place is rarely felt, and brought intense joy and magnitude to this blessed event.

She loves design, and he sports. What better way to put a wedding togther that speaks of both of you than a creative, handmade wedding with a reception at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame?

Beautiful Evelyn and dashing Marlon got married mother’s day weekend in what I can only describe as the perfectly handmade wedding. The bride used her artistic acumen to create simply lovely pieces of decor for the wedding and reception, from paper fans lining the aisle, to colorful cloth pennants and hand-sewn table cloths. Truly every aspect of this day was DIY perfection! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. – I had so much fun being a part of your splendid and creative day!

Congrats miss Haley! She is graduating this spring in graphic design! We shared an art supply drawer a few summers back, and now we’re both striking out on our own – WHEW! Where has the time gone?? The little white box she is carrying in some of her photos is her grandmother’s portfolio box – guess art runs in this family!
